Christmas.

Merry Christmas, friends!
I hope your holiday was full
of simple joys & warm hearts.
And I sincerely mean it.

As for my Christmas,
it was lovely!
It was just my husband and I,
and we live far from our families,
so we called them up and chatted
for a while instead.
(We definitely missed them like crazy, though!)

We played many a board game,
ate a nice dinner,
even got dressed up for the occasion...
We made memories.

Thank you for all your love this year.
So many of you I truly count as friends
even though we've never met.

Maybe we will someday!
Who knows.
But thank you for being in my life.

-xoxo-

Jessie

I Mustache You A Question...

Ever been to a mustache party?
Wondering who would attend such a strange
and hairy event?!?

Let me show you...

(And truth be told, it was just an excuse
for us to get together with some long lost friends!)

 We played pool and poker,
danced,
ate,
and all around had a very merry
(and hairy)
time!

Birthday Time!

create a gif

This week,
we celebrated Tanner's birthday.

I'm a big fan of
simple and sweet
celebrations over here.

So, for his birthday,
I tried to do a few
fun little things...

.baked a cake.

.made one of his favorite meals.

.little gifts.

Three cheers for celebrating
the ones you love
(and an excuse for cake)!!!

Life and Such

Hello friends!

Lots going on over here.
First off, my hubs and I celebrated our
first wedding anniversary!
WOOOOOO!!!!

We went out for some fusion food.
Good stuff, my friends.

Of course,
we took some photos to document
this monumental day!
Hehe!

 Our favorite restaurant in town,
"1Zero6,"
is one crazy neat place
with only 2 staff:
the chef (Jake)
and the server (Jeff).

They both have a lot of personality
- as does their restaurant -
and they know our names!
Talk about awesome small town customer service!

They even gave us free dessert for our special night :)

Amazing almond creamy chocolate cake
of awesomeness.
(And I'm a big critic when it comes to chocolate cake.
Seriously.)

So yeah,
that was a big deal for us.

Also, I'm trying to figure out
how to go about making an Etsy store
(possibly?)
and selling some art prints and such?

I did not expect to get so many sweet comments
on my llama piece!
Honestly!
So if any of you out there think Etsy is a good idea,
let me know.
(I guess it's about time I put my art degree to use! Hehe!)

And on a most random note...
I've been doing adult beginners beginners ballet
for a few weeks now...

WHAT.THE.WHAT?!?

No one told me how hard ballet was.
Seriously.
So sore.

Also, I received my first ever foot compliment...
???
I'll take it!!!

Truth be told, a good friend of mine
convinced me to join her in trying out ballet,
and I love it!

I've always been more of a sports/jock kind of girl,
and I'm in NO WAY flexible.
True story.
But it's challenging and soothing!
Altogether!

So expect some updates on that here and there.
So far, I know my positions and a few basic things...
definitely lacking physical grace though!

Anyhow,
that is life for now.
I shall check in again tomorrow.
Hopefully :)

Good day to you!

Birthday Bonanzafanza

While my brother was visiting,
we celebrated my husband Tanner's birthday.

He turned the big 23.
Tanner's never been a big celebrator of birthdays...
but that didn't matter to me.
I think every birthday is special.
It's a day worth rejoicing
for the breath you've been given,
for the adventures you've taken,
and for the journey you're on.

So, Laurence and I made Tanner some cards
and silly decorations
to show him how glad we are
to share another year with him.

If you've ever seen the show, The Office,
you might recognize this banner.

We also made some silly cards...
(My brother made all of these!)

When Tanner came home from work,
we had the house ready for him.

We even had a chocolate cake ready!
My favorite chocolate cake to be exact...
I'll be sharing the recipe with you very soon!

All in all, our little celebration wasn't too crazy,
but it was just enough to remind Tan
how much he means to us.

Yay for birthdays!

WHA???

It's 4:56 AM.

And I'm not sleeping because.... ???
I have no idea.
My brain is on overdrive.
Side note.
I love hot apple cider, 30 Rock, and slouchy boots.
Have I enjoyed any of these tonight?
No.
But I felt like exclaiming it.

In other news,
My Greek friend Kostan and I are throwing a Mustache-Party-Potluck next week.
Yeah.  I'm going to go for the "Ron Burgandy" look.
Gotta keep it classy.

Tiffany's in Paris...

On September 12th, I had the honor
of helping throw my good friend Drea
a bridal shower.
She has a sweet love of all things Parisian
and a flair for the 40s era.
So, we got creative and threw a party
classy enough for Audrey Hepburn!
Here are a few of the details...
I painted some fun signs for Drea to keep -
this one says Lorenz (her future last name!).

Drea - the beautiful bride-to-be!

Another sign, this one says "I love you"

Drea in her heels... adorable!

"Tiffany" boxes I made!
Just painted some boxes and tied white ribbon!

I made double-stranded "pearl" necklaces
for the guests' favors; each had a teal ribbon bow!

Some of the fixings... fresh fruit for fondue!

A group picture!

Hey look! Audrey showed up!

Overall - it was such a fun soiree to throw!
Aside from making all the fun details, my favorite part
was seeing Drea enjoy a day with people who love her
and couldn't be more excited for her coming journey!
