Silver City, New Mexico
is a quirky town.
For almost any random event,
a parade is thrown
(much to the delight of our townfolk).
People and children fill the streets,
and strange paper-mached puppets
seem to run the town.
I'm not sure what it's for
usually
or why there's a gal
with an Afro and platform boots...
But it sure brings delight.
And I guess that's worth supporting.
:)
Today's parade,
I discovered,
was in celebration of our
"Big Ditch Park"
and the monsoon season.
Kind of neat!
I wanna go to that parade!
